Mars Express

After recording this song "Leaving The Rock", I invited the guys into a band for this project, rather than be session musos for it.  So, the credits are now "Mars Express", not by Danny Woodman.  Credit where it's due sorta thang.

Why the song "My Alien Girl", otherwise known as M.A.G. exists, is all explained in the first post, so we won't rehash that.

Lyrically, I think I captured the classic vibe of boy being meets girl being, after she ate his crew mates, then turned on him, so he stuffed her out of the airlock, sorta tragedy.  When you don't have rockets and Aliens, The Greeks had to make do with sailing ships and titans, same thing really.

Around 2018, a mate (Ian Clark) had some lyrics, that he put out there.  I asked if I could work the music side of it and for a brief instant in time the song now known as "My Alien Girl" drew breath as "Scandinavian Girl" or "when I was your number one".

But...  It was a very personal lyric for Ian and this tune wasn't what he was after.  Fair enough, there were no hard feelings, the tune didn't marry to his lyrics but I still wanted to use my music...  So I spent the next 2 years idly creating Robotic…
